Each year Rotary Club of Remuera brings together visually impaired youngsters (9-16 year olds) supported by the Blind Foundation with a group of senior student buddies from Diocesan, Kings and Dilworth Schools, for a mutually beneficial & stimulating weekend of outdoor activity.
 
The camp is held at the YMCA Camp Adair in the Hunua Ranges. The various activities undertaken are designed to develop the VIPs self-confidence, by their participating in physical activities normally regarded as the preserve of fully-sighted people.
 
The programme offers peer support activities aimed at establishing existing or building new friendships. It is also a time to enhance self-learning, self-responsibility, self-confidence, self-esteem, empathy, and motivation.
 
All in a day the groups partake in activities such as the super flying fox, kayaking, archery, obstacles, crawling through mud, running races, mud slides. Ending the night on a high note there is a camp-fire concert which unveils some tremendous talent.
