Rotary is first on-scene in most Pacific disasters because of the availability of the Emergency Response Kits (ERKs).  Many clubs prefer to make a donation towards ERKs on behalf of the person they would like to acknowledge and the Gift Card enables this.
Recipients may be a Guest Speaker or someone who has done something of value  in support of the club etc.  Individual Rotarians have also acknowledged their customers at Christmas or other special occasion by making a donation to ERKs as a thank you.

The inside of the card has the amount donated and the words "To recognise this occasion with thanks, we have made a gift to Rotary New Zealand Emergency Response Kit activity so that we can bring immediate support to our neighbours in the Pacific following natural disasters"  Added to the card can be a personal message to the recipient by the giver.

The process is to make a donation to RNZWCS Ltd and receive in return an appropriate number of cards (with envelope) each with a stated value completed by RNZWCS Ltd and the total across the cards equating to the value of the donation.
