This month it is Rotary's 120th anniversary

Congratulations to all Rotarians, Rotary clubs, and members of District 9920 for being a part of this organisation and achieving this milestone.

Your outstanding achievements in the first half of the Rotary year! Your dedication to service and your commitment to impactful projects continue to inspire and make a lasting difference. I look forward to even greater success in the year ahead.

I am truly inspired by the incredible work of our District 9920 Rotarians! Visiting clubs and events has been a remarkable experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to witness first hand the passion and dedication behind each project. A special congratulations to all of you for your unwavering support of youth activities like RYDA, RYPEN, RYLA, the Science and Technology Forum, and the incredible work being done by Rotaract and Interact clubs. These programs would shape the future of Rotary District 9920, our communities and empower youth.

Promote Rotary’s New Generations like the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy/Awards (RYLA), Youth Exchange, etc. and to engage young leaders in Rotary.
Rotary has long been a partner for community development and peace in Africa, with thousands of club projects addressing polio eradication, education, water and sanitation, and economic development, Rotary in Africa has been making impact, almost magically in the eyes of many stakeholders.

RI President Stephanie Urchick in one of her recent blogs wrote about promoting Rotary and encouraging younger members of the socienty to join the organisation:

"Airplanes are not the only place to engage people in chats about Rotary. During my stay in Kampala, Uganda, I met a young man in an elevator who noticed my Rotary pin. He knew Rotary since he was a proud son of a Rotarian. But when I asked him if HE was a Rotarian, he said, "No, Rotary is not for me." Well, after I told him how Rotary had changed and why it was exactly for bright, young, people like him, I got his attention. District Governor-Elector Christine Kyeyune Kawooya from Rotary District 9214 (who will follow up on his interest), Adebowale Atobatele (potential Rotarian), me, and Tom Gump, 2024-2025 aide to the President and Rotary Director-Nominee.

Sometimes I board airplanes and talk about Rotary to everyone in my seating section. And sometimes I don't have to!! During our journey to visit five African countries, my aide and Director-Nominee Tom Gump and I, bumped into Previous Rotary International District Governor Urs Herzog who was en route home. Rotary magic can happen anywhere!"

Let’s continue to invest our efforts in these youth initiatives and clubs. They represent the future of our organisation and are essential to the growth and impact of Rotary for generations to come. Together, we will keep building a brighter future!

RI President Stephanie Urchick Magic of Rotary:

"In every corner of the globe, Rotary brings the magic of hope, compassion, and change. Like magicians of goodwill, Rotarians weave together threads of service, turning dreams into reality and challenges into triumphs. With each project, each act of kindness, we unleash the power of Rotary to create lasting impact and transform lives. Together, let's continue to spread the magic of Rotary, illuminating darkness with light, and making our world shine brighter for generations to come"
