Medical Scholarship

nitiated by Lloyd Richwhite in 1969 for the most distinguished scholar to graduate each year after the first graduation ceremony of the new Medical School in 1973. The selection is undertaken by the Auckl Uni Health Science (Med School) who liaise with the Vocational Services Director. The President is invited to the Graduation Ceremony and the awardee is honoured at a Club luncheon. Awards had increased over the years with payments coming from Club funds. As this was not a trust and the funds held by the Guardian Trust had not been drawn for many years, Directors decided to transfer the amount held $11,200 to the Auckland Rotary Jubilee Trust. The Club contributes $3,500 with a further $1,500 coming from the 3 District Trusts – Lois Dalley, Chenery Memorial and the Gray Charitable Trusts
